Can't we just be individuals through our own symbols and not the symbols of some hypocritical "sub-culture". Another point I disagree with is that it is a way for people to associate, people associate because they get on, not because they look the same. A vital skill of making friends is social skills, by the way.

Isn't going for the alternative opinion just as bad as going for the common opinion, its basically conforming in an attempt not to conform. These people are indeed not themselves because they often do, or wear or say things in order to be aligned in a "subculture". Listen to, do and wear; whatever you like, and for godness sake, BE YOURSELF.

We should an anarcho-primitivist minded subculture. But no one would want to purchase silly green and black attire, or be confused for a native with some hand made robes from the earth.

Reminds me very much of the way the 'red pills' dressed in The Matrix. Again, this distinguished them as being part of the same tribe, sharing a common awareness.

I'm also annoyed by the aforementioned truism. Even if they do dress differently "and look exactly the same," well they still look different from the conventional style. It is indeed a way for groups of people to associate.

Personally, I indulge in the arts of subcultures all over, but I don't affiliate with any of them. Many people find that odd about me. I'm accused of being a non-conformist. I don't feel I am, I just feel my habits don't conform naturally. But as much as I don't like to admit to, sometimes I am a bit guilty of doing things just simply because it's the different thing to do, the alternative option, etc.
